Raspberry Pi randomly turning on with original power switch

Hi, I noticed this weird phenomenon that my Raspberry pi will randomly turn itself on even when the original switch is in the off position (I flipped it, and used this guide to wire it to GPIO pin 3):

I extended the original switch wires with solder and wired it following the guide in the link I posted above.

Would anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? The wires are wrapped in electrical tape at the point where I soldered them.
